GP de Wallonie 2015 crash Eurosport stillVideo: Massive crash at today's GP de Wallonie
Heavy rain in Belgium caused a series of crashes at today’s GP Wallonie, and this was the biggestof the lot, as a couple of dozen riders came down, some catapulted off the road with many more held up behind them.
The crash, possibly due to a touch of wheels in crosswinds, took place when the peloton still had around 75 kilometres to ride of the 198.2 kilometre race from Beaufays to Namur, won by Jens Debusschere of Lotto-Soudal.
A separate crash resulted in Ettix-Quick Step rider Peter Sierry abandoning the race and he has been operated on for an elbow injury this evening.
Last week, his team mate Mark Cavendish crashed out of the Aviva Tour of Britain after colliding with a parked car near the summit of Gun Hill in Staffordshire.
