Carbon damage?

Hi all, new on here and hoping for some advice..

I have a cannondale supersix frame, on my last ride out i heard a ping and on closer inspection when i got home found that the metal chainstay protector had fallen off taking the paint and a small amount of carbon with it. (Pic attached).

This is the first carbon frame i've owned and not sure if i should be concerned.. it doesn't feel weakened and there is no sign of a crack.. there was no impact, so is there anything to worry about or can i just stick a new protector on and get back to enjoying the summer?

thanks in advance..

Tim

I don't think that would compromise the bike, but that's really not something which should happen. Warranty.

thanks.. should be covered under warranty, just trying to avoid losing a few weeks of summer riding but guess the cost/risk isn't worth it.

Erm that would worry me, how old is the bike - any chance of a warranty repair?

It's not the sort of thing you want cracking when hitting a bump at high speed...

Id second going for warranty on this. Sure you'll be eager to make up the miles after a few weeks off the steed 1
