Riding with a purple helmet can be an eye-catching look.![19](https://cdn.road.cc/sites/all/modules/contrib/smiley/packs/smilies/19.gif)
White or silver/grey for me as they go with anything. However Geraint Thomas's black one appeared to do a good job the other week as it matched perfectly with his Sky kit !
Bloke in my lbs pointed out that black absobs more heat although in practice I don't know whether it makes you hotter. Specialized seem to be the only brand that fits me well fortunately they have plenty of colours.
Think about it, the outer shell only is colored differently and between that and your head here is 2-3cm of polystyrene....which is a great insulator so no, I don't think that a black helmet is measurably warmer than a white or light colored helmet.
I've a fluorescent helmet, picked that colour under the reason that it's the highest point so motorists should see it easier. Does that theory work? Well....
Pick which ever colour you prefer, doesn't need to match bike, shoes or kit IMO.
I use a lime green and white Kask Mojito but my bike is black and white. Wear whatever you want or like, it doesn't have to match imho.
I personally choose floro yellow for winter and early spring. But it attracts too many bugs in summer. White blacks reds of any combo rest of the time.
Fluorescent yellow.
Just choose your favorite color. I guess it should match your jersey and bike as they should bear your favorite color track as well.
I have a white/red bike and a black helmet.
The helmet I chose because it was one of the few that didn't make me look like a mushroom head.
My rule of thumb is all black apart from jerseys/jackets. Can't go wrong!
Lid takes precedence, everything else follows. It's just my thing, I don't do 'helmet debates'.
Helmet white, shoes white (collars n cuffs n all that) bike black. Or white.
It troubles me that I gave it as much thought as I did, but I'd have to say that I'd want my lid to match my shoes. I've currently got black for both, but once I get to the point of replacing them I do plan on going with white.
Alternatively, white.
White +1
White.
You know where you need to get for using that don't you?
