Homemade Phone Mount

Im trying to build a phone mount on the cheap, have a nicely fitted waterproof case and cateye light mount. Just wondered if anyone knows if you can get a piece which clips in to the Cateye mount? I.E it replicates the shape of the back of the light itself. My plan is to rivet this piece onto the back of the case.

Cheers All

Cheers guys. 3 good ideas there, should have thought to use an old light myself, have bought the Garmin adapter for kicks and will try the inner tube method too! Kind of like the Finn mount...neat solution.

Cut a peice of old inner tube (MTB) 2.5 x the length of your phone. leaving about an inch at the bottom cut a slice up the centre of the tube to the length of you phone. Fold the longer end in on itself through the slice, pass the thinner peice beneath the handlebar and the thicker part over the the bar then through the other end of your tube piece. Now stretch the slice out over the corners of your phone, pull the sticking out bit of tube tight through the hole and cut off any excess tube.

Or you can buy a universal phone mount at TK Max for £4.

i bought a garmin quarter turn to slide-lock adapter, dremelled off the slide-lock bit and stuck it to the back of the phone case with a 3M VHB adhesive pad. Works a treat. total cost including a garmin o-ring mount is about £15-20

Try finding the cheapest item, like the Cateye bell, and sacrificing it to the greater good. Or try the forums and see if anyone has a dead light you can cannibalise.
