Man charged with handling stolen goods in relation to theft of 3 customised bikes in SE London

20-year-old to appear at Bromley Magistrates' Court later this month...

The Metropolitan Police says that it has charged a 20-year-old man with handling stolen goods in connection with a burglary in Lee Park, South East London last Friday 9 May in which three customised bikes were taken.

Ashley Moore, aged 20 and from Marischal Road, London SE13, has been bailed to appear at Bromley Magistrates' Court on 29 May.

Handling stolen goods is an offence under the Theft Act 1968 and one that while complicated can have a broad scope; besides people actively involved in the stolen bike trade, similar charges have also been laid for example against people buying a bike at Brick Lane Market which turns out to have been stolen bike.

Police did not say whether or not the bikes had been recovered.
