50cm does sound on the smallish side for someone of your size. Equally I would have thought a 56cm madone would be on the large side for you, so who knows! I would normally expect your measurements to have a 52 or a 54cm frame.
I'm 6'1" and was riding a couple of 58 Cannondales until I ordered a Canyon bike last year and Canyon's online tool (the one you enter all your measurements into) suggested I needed a Medium (56) size instead. I was a little skeptical, but in the end I was glad I went for the smaller bike - I feel a lot more comfortable on it.
I'm 5'7 with a 29" inside leg , so not a million miles away from you proportionally, I have a 50cm canyon ultimate cf 8.0 after I got slammed the stem I found I needed a 10 mm longer stem than came with the bike to stop me feeling cramped in the drops , if I'd gone the next size up I'd have had to run a shorter stem so it sounds like I'm between sizes but I'm glad I went with the 50 as a stem change or seatpost change is easier to solve than an overly large frame
I suspect the inside leg measurement is a bit off. I'm a normally proportioned 170cm (5'7") and my inside leg measurement is 80.5cm (31.5"). I'm currently trying to choose between a Canyon and a Rose and both sites recommend the small frame size (53cm) for me.
I'm 5'11 with a fairly regular 32" leg. I've got a 56 cf sl which fits me really well. I went on my measurements, the bikes measurements on the canyon website and then measured them against my other bike. I've got quite long arms and just asked for a slightly longer stem when I ordered which was no problem.
