Does replacement frame include forks?

I recently found a crack in my less than 2 year old frame and organised for it to be replaced under warranty. I was told that they would supply a similar frame in identical colour (gloss light blue), but when it arrived it was a different colour and finish (matte white).

I assumed that since they were unable to provide the frame in the original colour, the forks would be replaced too, but the shop put it back together with the original forks and now it looks terrible. The bike shop claimed that it's "standard practice" for a manufacturer to replace the frame only if there is no damage to the fork, but that sounds dodgy. When I broke a frame a long, long time ago, both were replaced.

If you've had a frame replaced under warranty and they replaced the forks at the same time, please advise. If you ended up with a frame / fork mismatch, what action did you end up taking and what was the outcome?

Planet X replacement frames that I've had have all came with forks.

Having two different colours really isn't on, it's not the same product that you bought if it's a different colour - I'd contest it and not give in until they replace the fork. Don't roll over just because the bike shop said that's standard practice, especially if you've been told it's going to be identical and it's not.

When Felt replaced my frame due to a weld failure at the chainstay/bottom bracket, they supplied frame only. The colour of the frame had changed since I bought mine, but they reasoned that since my forks were black, there was no aesthetic reason to change them (I still think there is...)

Two years ago a new Roubaix frame I had was slightly different colours so came complete with new forks. A friend recently had a new Mekk frame under warranty and as they didn't have the exact same one in stock they offered the next model up (frame & forks) at no charge.

I would think seeing as they don't match, that they really should give you the forks too, or a frame the right colour.

I think that's only reasonable.

Then the problem still stands, every brand has different policies regarding repairs and replacements

Ok, I understand what you are saying and I know that each brand has different policies, but that is not the question I asked. All I want to know is... have you, personally, had a frame replaced and were the forks included or not. If not and you didn't like the result, what did you, personally, do about it.

If you want to mention the brand, fine. If not, fine.

If it happened in EU, UK, USA, AU or whatever doesn't really interest me, unless you, personally, can direct me to a bike manufacturer's warranty statement that says something to the effect of "In country X we will replace the forks and the frame, but in country Y we will replace the frame only".

Really?! You can't see what he did there - he didn't want to take away from the "Focus" of his question - jeez, you don't need to be Sherlock Holmes!

I had a frame replaced a long time ago and the manafacturer "Felt" it right to replace the forks although there was no damage to them.

So which brand of frame was it?

That way people with warranty experience through that brand might be able to help. Where as others with different brands will have totally different experiences.

Every brand has a different warranty policy.

If they forks were un-damaged, that would be normal for those not to be replaced. but I would expect everything to be identical to the original. If not, they should have replaced everything. If they sent you a white frame, they should have also sent forks to match, knowing that the blue would not match.

Another issue is, the warranty policy for Australia may be totally different to the UK, it is rare, but some brands will have different policies depending on your location.

I didn't want to mention the bike brand as it would distract from the Focus of my enquiry.
