Callum Skinner is to take part in the Red Hook Crit in Brooklyn on Saturday. The fixed gear race has become known for its crashes, but the Olympic team sprint gold medallist is unfazed by its reputation and will join three-time British national track champion, Kian Emadi in riding for Team Huez.
A stalled moto caused a huge pile-up at last year’s Red Hook Crit and footage also emerged of a number of falls during qualifiers.
The race is into its tenth year and has now become a four-city series with races also scheduled for London on July 22, Barcelona on September 5 and Milan on October 14.
Skinner’s preparation has been long and carefully planned.

After all that training, both he and Emadi are now primed for action.
