Why not ask SJS? I sent them
Why not ask SJS? I sent them a question on a far cheaper part and they were very helpful.

    Totally agree. All the lights
Totally agree. All the lights, hi vis and radar in the world can’t protect from reckless or wilful bad driving. As Rendel says, this is all about terrible driving, plus a murder strip which suggests to some idiots that an inch is ok.

This driver should face severe consequences.

I don’t fully understand all this, a massive addition to the national debt with a none too strong economy this winter.

I’ve got a Mr K Kwarteng and a Ms E Truss on the line, asking if you could get in touch as and when you do understand as they’d also like to know…

    It’s been like that for
It’s been like that for decades in Bath – at least since the mid 70s when I moved there. Not a bad idea – make driving your own car into the centre difficult as a disincentive, but you can get in if you need to.

A place that size is better to walk around or take an open top bus. What would he do in Venice – moan that the roads seem a bit wet?

As anyone who has ever been
As anyone who has ever been punishment-passed for causing a motorist a delay of 30 seconds will know, it’s entirely possible that his delay of 23 minutes for a call of nature and waiting for someone else to manoeuvre was not accompanied by an attack of biblical rage.

However… I have a modicum of sympathy. In the old days when car parks were patrolled by people, you’d never have been ticketed while you waited to exit. With ANPR, the click is ticking until you leave the site entirely.

    How does ETT do for
How does ETT do for comparison between a fairly upright tourer and a full on race bike?

    Geometry isn’t my strong
Geometry isn’t my strong point but stack and reach are measured relative to the centre of the bottom bracket. So seat tube angle will be relevant to where your saddle sits fore and aft, but not seat tube length.

My guess is that we can rely on stack and reach because seat tube angles don’t vary that much, and so you can fine tune with saddle setback to dial out any difference – up to the point that you’re no longer in the right place over the cranks.

But I am no expert on this!

For me the takeaway line was that at the very delayed interview with the driver (suspect?) was attended by the husband of a granddaughter who just happened to be a police officer.

Reminds me of the Month Python line “I noticed that the man holding the thermonuclear device was in fact the Chief Constable of the area”. Bedfordshire mentioned in that sketch (Pirhana Brothers) as well. Life imitating art…

    +1 for Nationwide, the extra
+1 for Nationwide, the extra to add my 3 bikes, of which only one is worth more than £1000*, to my home insurance, was trivial. The Ts & Cs didn’t seem too bad.

Having said that, the insurance for buildings & contents isn’t cheap and as I haven’t claimed in 15 years, they’re way ahead of me.

*Looking at the cost of new bikes I’m less sure about this now.

He’s asked me to ask you if you’d mind stopping all the bumping, it’s a bit of a pain.

Agree with height. I read somewhere that most bike fits advise lower saddles, and that was certainly true for me, by a surprisingly long way.

Wasps are pollinators, and in general pollination is under pressure. We need to tolerate them where possible. And WD-40 plus its propellant isn’t nice stuff, despite what Taboola and Outbrain may suggest. Leave it in the can.

I don’t recall Lesley Judd being lashed but perhaps you were watching the continental version.
