Hi road.cc team. Is the non-subscription site meant to look like this? Or is this a way of persuading me to subscribe to get rid of ads? I know it’s how you fund the site, but the amount of space given to your actual content is ridiculous.

For descaling, I’ve used Kilrock Espresso Machine Descaler, which seemed to do the job. Sounds like you might want a degreaser though? No experience there sorry, but will read recommendations with interest as I should really degrease mine.

Thanks for the tip re: Quest, that’ll probably suffice for me. Would have been academic before this morning, but by happy coincidence I have just had an aerial installed.

Based on my one previous experience of watching the Giro on Eurosport, I really can’t fathom why some people prefer Eurosport commentary to ITV. I’ve watched the last two Giros in Welsh (which I don’t understand) rather than subject myself to that again. Maybe I’ve answered my own question.

Allen Key wrote:Interesting, quiff, that you mention more interest in close passes than collisions – I would not have guessed that. The issue in my case was that collisions are handled by a different team in the police force, which has different policies and priorities. The team dealing with close passes will take action even if nobody’s hurt. The team responsible for dealing with actual collisions won’t. Ludicrous really, but not sure if that’s the same in other forces.

In my experience, the force either has an upload facility as part of its submission form, or they ask you to put it on YouTube as an unlisted video as HoarseMann says. They also generally ask you to take it off social media if it’s posted anywhere else in case that prejudices an investigation. Also in my experience, they have been more interested in close passes than actual collisions. I’ve reported 5 or 6 since I got cameras 3 years ago – I only bother with egregious ones. Action was taken in all of them (one went to court) except the one where I was actually knocked off by a left hook. On that one, no further action was taken because there was no injury or property damage.

My understanding is that
My understanding is that 20mph limits are not targeted solely at road safety – they also target air quality, increasing active travel and possibly even improving traffic flow. The speed limit is also posted on signs, so there shouldn’t be any ‘unsuspecting motorists’. If the speed limit isn’t posted, then that would be a potential defence to a speeding charge.

Of course, you need both a limit and enforcement – which is what I said in the consultation. But I have to say, they have already introduced a lot of 20mph restrictions in Cardiff in recent years, and they are much better observed than I might have expected / than my experience of the same in London.

I don’t disagree with the principle of a shoulder check but by the same logic, if the Tesla was being driven anywhere close to 100mph, surely it’d also be so far behind that you wouldn’t spot it on a quick glance back?

Interesting. It’s hard to envisage many situations where a bike on bike overtake would be dangerous, so I can’t imagine that being enforced, even if it is technically an infraction.
The LTN wars have shown how many motorists don’t understand / obey the no motor vehicles sign, so I wouldn’t hold much hope of them understanding / obeying the no overtaking sign.

Exactly – we’re not
Exactly – we’re not suggesting juries are overtly biased or corrupt, but they have a degree of unconscious bias because most will be drivers themselves – “there, but for the grace of god, go I”. For that reason, many defendants will (when possible) elect for jury trial. And the CPS has to factor this in when deciding the charge – do we have reasonable propects of securing a dangerous conviction, or shall we go for careless?

Shimano lists them as
Shimano lists them as separate parts:

But if you look at the exploded diagram linked on the product pages, it suggests that the actual caliper is the same, it’s just the mounting kit which changes. I would guess you can do as you say, but I’m an awful mechanic.
