In my experience, drivers
In my experience, drivers underestimate the cost of bike repairs and parts.. and try and weasel out of things pretty quickly.
I’d give them the benefit of the doubt, one quick chance, but check your policy for time limits to report incidents..

A couple of mm on the saddle
A couple of mm on the saddle height can restrict blood flow to the foot, just saying.. you might have shorter or tighter ‘things or bits’.. maybe try lowering it back a down a couple of mm see if that helps. (Other thing to look at is whether the saddle angle may have changed?)

I’ve had something very
I’ve had something very similar this year specifically.. 1) best bike has had no changes 2) touring bike has had lots of changes.. 3) same shoes I’ve had for ages, BUT my cleats have changed position.
I’ve not cured it as yet and I have blood tests to be done for the docs.. but I have, a bit oddly gotten rid of the issue on my best bike.. moved cleats back, looser shoes and I’ve swapped the saddle also recently to one which allows me to move about more (althogh the saddle point is irrelevant in this as that was after I’ve sort of helped the issue). On the tourer, I need a bike fit and I need to change the saddle, so I just take asprin (which helps a lot).

You can buy direct from the
You can buy direct from the far east, it seems the main issue is ‘finding a reputable factory to buy from and not a carbon cowboy chop shop.
There is a lot of forum talk out there and real world useage. It seems HongFu or Workswell for frames is a pretty safe bet and wheel wise I’d trust Farsports , Light Bicycle and yishunbike.
There a current 210 page thread on weight weenies about frames and the wheel one is up to 118 pages.. if you stick with buying from the brands above and pay for someone in the UK to build the wheels and frame up for you, I don’t think you’ll go too wrong.
Do some research beforehand, lots of stories of people not being specific enough with their requirements in communications and maybe the odd quirk in a frame which needs a workaround.

I think those Btwin bikes are
I think those Btwin bikes are greast value, they get good reviews.
Personally, I’d buy second hand, but I’d get someone who knew about bikes to help me do it, buying s/h can be a bit daunting /hit and miss otherwise.

Nothing of use to add here,
Nothing of use to add here, apart from stating the obvious that if you are putting your weight nearer the front, more than the rear it will cause more twitchy steering.
On a road bike I think the ratio is about 60/40 rear front weight distribution, on a Tri bike I’d suspect that changed to have a bit more on the front.. might be worth weighing your position on the bike using some bathroom scales, it’s possible you’re too far over the front, or maybe that’ll be your new normal on a dedicated TT bike?

The 18″ version of that looks
The 18″ version of that looks not dissimilar to the hiplok z combo.. https://www.hiplok.com/product/z-lok-combo-black/
and while I was on their site, I noticed a d-lock with a cable which clips on to your clothing.. which sort of answers your original post – https://www.hiplok.com/product/hiplok-dxc-grey/
I like the hiplok site, have a root about, they have a lock finder on there as well.

Thank you Kil0ran, much appreciated. I’ve taken a note of that farm shop and will certainly avoid any 25% inclines where at all possible after 150miles.. 🙂

Thanks dave, I’ll have a look
Thanks dave, I’ll have a look at that.. although I fear a mile at 8.4% at 120miles in might burn our matches for the day…
Anyway.. where to eat and get a decent coffee around Bath way at lunchtime? As it’ll be a saturday, might be best to keep out of the busier places…
