Glad you are OK.
Glad you are OK.
Being shook up at least means that you are alive. At the risk of getting the wrath of the forum regulars thrust upon me, sometimes the only way you can de-escalate is to prevent it from occuring in the first place.
When I’m on single track roads, I’m always looking for an escape route where I can safely pull over and let them pass – from either the front or rear. I’ll then vent my spleen quietly, once they have passed.
I know I shouldn’t have to, and never used to until I had two weeks in hospital, 4 months of not being able to walk properly and a further year before I could ride greater than 20 miles again.Venting the frustration at the time is great, but I’m always aware of how fragile my body *really* is, and how hard it is to walk – let alone have a decent punch-up – in cleats.
In your case, you got unlucky and got landed with a cunt. It’s unlikely that faced with another motorist – which would have forced him to stop – the outcome would probably have been the same. Some people think that the world revolves around them, and we are here to serve them.
De-escalation with someone like that would only happen if you had been a good foot taller, a good foot broader and built to make a brick shithouse cower; or if you had a car and flicked a switch on the dashboard that turned on the little flashing blue lights; or you produced a Warrant card.Sometimes, backing down before it has even happened is the best thing to do.
It’s all very well being right, but its far, far better to be alive and healthy.Oldfatgit
If you get a petrol generator
If you get a petrol generator and you are planning on running sensitive electric kit off it, check that there is an inverter in line prior to the equipment, and peferrably a sine-wave inverter.
Sine-wave is more expensive than square-form, but your equipment will thank you for it.
The wave form – and power output – can fluctuate with the rpm of the generator, so you may not get the 50hz (+0.2 -0.6) that most kit is designed to operate at.TV’s for caravans are more expensive as they are designed to work on fluctuating waveform.
If you are seriously thinking about a gen set, then the caravan / motorhome comunity might be a good place to start (and cheaper than a new TV).

Absolutely it shouldn’t
Absolutely it shouldn’t matter. But it does and it will.
It removes the consumers ability to say “I am paying you for a specific service and you are not providing that service”.
Kinda hard to argue that you’ve paid next day delivery when there is no separate invoice item.

Hermes are appalling.
Hermes are appalling. The problem lies with who has the contracts.
The contract to supply the goods is between you and the shop; however, the contract to deliver the goods is between the supplier and the delivery company … Realistically, the delivery company do not even have to talk to you as *you are not their customer*.Get on to your supplier and start complaining to them about how (making assumptions here) you have paid for a next day / two day delivery and that it’s not putting them (the supplier) in a bad light and making you reluctant to consider using them (the supplier) again.
The guy at the supplier probably already knows how misc hassle it is to deal with Hermes, which is why they are soft soaping you.Give the supplier a couple of days to resolve it and if there is still no joy, go through the supplier complaints procedure and log a formal complaint.
If you have not been charged delivery … Well I’m afraid you’re pretty much going to have to lump it as the contract between the supplier and Hermes will be the cheapest possible deal and potentially on a *best endeavour* basis.
Good luck.

Chances are, you’ld just be wasting your breath and get frustrated.
Personally, I’d just get up and walk away.

Didn’t take long before it all went back on … plus an additional 10kg.
When you can only use one arm and one leg it kinda limits the – useful – exercise you can do
