I’ve been using Crud Road Racer 2s for about 2 1/2 years now. They need a bit of fettling and maintenance, but they’re worth it. Proper protection for you and your bike.

Campag chain tools need a cone-shaped ‘peening anvil’ on the side opposite the press in side, to slightly flare the hollow end of the link.
If you’re after a mini tool that will do that, the Park Tool CT6.3 is relatively inexpensive:

Yes, this is illegal price discrimination and against EU rules. See:

Good luck! You could I suppose try taking them to the Small Claims Tribunal?

And another thing. All the ‘likes’ have reset on the ‘Pictures of Your Bike’ page. They’re all back to zero.
and although I have an ‘edit’ button, when I go to edit a post there is a message saying “This field has been disabled because you do not have permission to edit it”.
This website suddenly got a whole lot less compelling. Not all change is better.

You used to be able to use a photo that when clicked on linked to a larger photo hosted externally. Now the photo in the forum is just a tiny link arrow.
This change has ruined a lot of the ‘Pictures of your Bike’ forum.
I really miss the ‘latest forum comments’ section on the front page.
So many websites are going this way, mobile optimised and look terrible on a PC or laptop. Is it beyond the wit of web designers to adapt to the device on which the site is viewed? Plenty of websites do that now.
It feels sad 🙁

I bought a couple of knock off castelli jerseys about 3 years ago. Cheaply constructed with a basic pattern from the most bog standard fabric, smudgy printing. Nothing like the real thing. Sold them at a loss. Black wasn’t fully black, more like that colour you get if you colour in with a black ballpoint. Pretty poor actually.

Winter bike, Canyon Ultimate
Winter bike, Canyon Ultimate AL 9.0, built up from the frame with my old Ultegra 6600 groupset. Syntace bars and slammed Syntace stem (practically the only stem that fits a 1 1/4 steerer). Crud RR2 guards.
Also used for commuting, and sometimes carries a light Tubus Fly rack and some small panniers.
Lovely bike, stiff as anything and with a compliant seatpost and forks.
That’s in its latest guise with Shimano RS80-C24 wheels.
To be honest this bike gets much more use than the best bike![url=https://picasaweb.google.com/drmatthewhardy/Bikes#6058625435328551570]

Now with updated picture. Click to zoom.
Will shortly upload new picture after frame-up rebuild with Athena 11 speed.

Smart Lunar 0.5w – absolutely brilliant with a low setting for club rides. Had mine 5 years and still going strong.
Takes rechargeable AAA batteries and lasts for ages between charges.
Other shops are available.

Very very happy with my Canyon Ultimate AL 9.0. Can’t think of anything much that would make it better.

I’ve ridden since I was a kid, but didn’t test my first online bike – a PX carbon pro – and it was too big after following their guidance. After that I found the CompetitiveCyclist.com fit calculator which worked a treat. I’ve bought 3 bikes in the years since then that fitted like a glove. I’ve made an Excel spreadsheet to put in geometry of any prospective purchase that compares it with my existing bike to see if it’s in the zone.
I’ve also got a Canyon and that fits best of all. If you’ve ridden for some years and have a known set of fit measurements that work, you can buy with reasonable confidence. IMO Stack and Reach are the two most important measurements, sometimes hard to find in geometry tables.

Why on earth didn’t they put the caliper on the front of the fork? That way it would only push harder into the dropout.
The position behind the fork is style over substance.
