srchar, some of that one
srchar, some of that one looks quite alright, there are some armadillos ? not just paint, rights continuing at junctions, not that that is going to make any difference. You are right about the parked cars.
When you go on the streetview, if you turn to the right and keep going, you go back in time to before the route. Spooky.

For my new rohloff build I will eventually go for tubeless, somewhat to minimise the puncture thing, as removing the wheel is meant to be a faff. But mainly for low pressure, feel and comfort.
27.5 x 3 inch, because I can.

I was a tad shocked, whilst driving me to a family funeral in London, that my brother told me that he used Tannus tyres on his single speed London commuter. He seemed to get on with them, and of course no punctures.

The automatic blaming of dead
The automatic blaming of dead children seems a little bit wrong, but, you know, the power and control of the motoring industry.
I believe that in the case of a cyclist killing a child on the road, the child would of course be absolved of any blame.

There is a case for actually
There is a case for actually enforcing existing mobile phone legislation. We all know that a large percentage of those waiting motorists will have their faces buried in a smartphone, and it is very simple, if your engine is on you are driving. I’m guessing it’s the same at schools, I know that during the morning school run, a significant minority of parents will sit in traffic on their phones with their children in the car, and those waiting around train stations, it’s almost universal.
Now, if only someone could explain this to those strictly law abiding black cab drivers in their extreemly clean and efficient diesels.

Chris King hubs are reportedly very loud, big on the angry bees, the woods are often alive with the sound of Hope hubs.

It probably is, you might
It probably is, you might want knobblies though. You may have to wait until it dries up a bit, there is potential for a great deal of mud. The bare chalk was slippery in the dry and will be like ice if wet.
Wonderful ride, did it on my good ti mtb. First one, rode from Caversham, along the Thames to Goring, and climbed up to it from Streatly, and rode to around Swindon, fox hil? when I bumped into some Swindon MTBers who were kind enough to escourt me to the towns station.
Had to do it properly so got the train to Pewsey, rode road to Avebury, and climbed up to the ridgeway, lost a knobble off the front tyre, exposing canvas, fitted a tyre boot and was careful for a bit. There’s a farmer just past weyland smithers (excellent…) who pipes mains water out for drinking, so filled all of my bottles, it was hot. It got cloudy and dark and I became surrounded by a massive electical storm, passed many photographers whenever it crossed roads. I worried about being the tallest thing on the highest ridge around and rode like a man possessed until I started coming down into Streatly, when everything looked soaked, but it wasn’t raining so I didn’t get the train back to Reading, and rode back along the Thames to Caversham.
Became a bit obsessed, there was something about it, don’t know if it was it’s age. Had to ride the last cycleble bit, towards Princes Risbourgh to where it became the Icnield way, and back. Happy.
These boys did it in the wet https://www.cyclingplus.com/cycling-routes/cycle-route-the-ridgeway-44-miles/ on CX bikes.

I too have been wondering about him, I hope he’s alright. He’s not been banhammered, as his comments still exist, unlike that SP59, who was removed from existence. He wasn’t even tempted by a recent helmet thread!
