Sorry to hear that.
Sorry to hear that.
Firstly, the police can easily take over a week to respond to online reports. As it’s a hit and run, you may be better off reporting it in person or at least make sure that you’ve got a crime reference number from your online report.
I haven’t any experience with enhancing photos, but you could post one on here or add a link to one so that people could give it a go or let you know how likely it is to work.
I doubt you’d have much luck with a No Win No Fee service until you can identify the vehicle/motorist and then you could pursue damages.
Anyhow, I’m glad that you’re not seriously injured.

Just remembered an alternative tubeless repair is to squeeze some rubber glue (e.g. wetsuit repair glue – https://www.amazon.co.uk/McNett-Black-Witch-Neoprene-Adhesive/dp/B000SCJQYQ) into the hole and leave for 24 hours or so. I’ve also heard of people using superglue to repair tyres, though that sets hard which can cause problems.

Hope your feeling better.. My teacher was awesome and surprised. He’d been one of the state examiners or something like that and understands pedantic writing of maths better than I. My mate Moz’s in hospital, stroke, paralyzed right side. Far right aye.. He’s improved heaps.. Nostril tube feeding halted, now speaking better, eating normal, drinking. I bet drinking’s the best fun having had to go without. Anyway, what I noticed was nerves exist but paralysis. He could feel the touch on paralysis side. I tapped him, punch maybe? Punch strength we gift giggly old ladies with.. Not hard yet it felt pain. We love pain, we cycle, a wind ow pain, a window pane filling with rhythm. No problems, I tapped his knuckle an hour, he loved that.. Hopefully he recovers quicker having used his knowledge base. We’ve planned a bicycle race.. My fastest against a future wheelchair. 🙂 I blacked out when someone showed me 31 dimensions. Modern maths suggests writing dimensions as. Point, line, volume, time. Mate’s in still. I keep lubing my pants. I gotta go ride to keep my shhh it. Honesty is so weird.. Just adjusted derraileur, hoping wd40 frees something that’s sticky, looks like hub speed again. Sticky bearings too but only on freewheel.BehindTheBikesheds wrote:Teachers hate it when you show them up particularly in front of those they feel they have power and control over, very few could ever swallow their pride and admit their error/mistake.
I played rugby yesterday, got a smashed cheekbone/teeth and a deep muscle injury in my quad from a knee at full speed, but I went cycling this morning to help ease my pain, cycling is a cure all.
And recycling, collected the usual strewn CO2 cannisters … grrrr
Sorry to hear about Moz. A friend of mine had a stroke about a year and a half ago – he was paralyzed on his right side as well. Like you say, it’s not the nerves but the wiring in the brain that gets injured. My mate recovered relatively quickly and was able to walk around after a few months and now you wouldn’t be able to tell by looking at him. According to him/his doctors, his brain switched over to his infant system (e.g. crawling) and even now he has some strange symptoms e.g. the standard knee/leg kick reflex is in a different place on his right leg and if he doesn’t concentrate then his right hand tends to move suddenly when he tries to move his right leg. Anyhow, a full recovery is very possible from a stroke.
Don’t listen to those naysayers calling you a bot – that’s just rude.

If the hole is less than 5mm
If the hole is less than 5mm width then it should seal with just the sealant, but if it’s bigger it can be problematic. I’ve used those “sticky cores” or anchovies and had the same issue with the pressure pushing it out on a larger hole and I’ve also had success with using one on a smaller hole (though bigger than 5mm), so it might be that your puncture is too big for the anchovy.
You could try a patch on the inside of the tyre instead, though I didn’t have much luck when I tried that with a Schwalbe Pro-One – I ended up binning the tyre as I didn’t have the patience to keep mucking around with it.

What puzzles me is the
What puzzles me is the connection between expensive bikes and athletic prowess. Some cyclists take the view that you should “earn” the right to have an expensive/lightweight/aero bike by racing or by having some arbitary level of performance. You don’t tend to get this with expensive cars (i.e. you don’t expect a Porsche driver to be an ex-racer) so why with bikes?

Converting to discs is going
Converting to discs is going to be expensive if you want to go for hydraulics and cable operated disc brakes have a poor reputation, so I reckon you should go for the best rim brakes you can find.
I would have thought that mini-v brakes would do the job really well, so what is it about your brakes that is lacking?
(Welcome back to the forums, by the way)

Greys haven’t been in Europe as long (1948?), so they haven’t taken over as much. Give them time, though. Or, it might be something to do with pine martens in Europe eating them (we don’t have many of them here).

I like to think that it’s more about awareness. One driver gets a warning letter/awareness course and gets all pissed off about it – tells his mates down the pub and right there you’ve get ten drivers who are going to have “does that cyclist have a camera” at the back of their minds.

A cyclist who slammed into a pensioner leaving her with life-threatening injuries has been jailed.Connor Coltman was pedalling at speed when he collided with Angela Horseman as she crossed East Street in Bedminster.
Having stopped momentarily as the 70-year-old lay unconscious in the road Coltman, who thought he had killed her, fled the scene.
He was later picked up, wearing different clothes, on the train track between Bedminster and Bristol Temple Meads.
Coltman was due to face a four-day trial in October but on June 13 he pleaded guilty to causing bodily harm to Angela Horseman by wanton or furious driving – a piece of legislation which dates back to 1861.
The 27-year-old, of East Street in Bedminster, also admitted a charge of failing to appear at court.
Judge William Hart jailed him for 16 months, as the court heard Mrs Horseman’s world has been turned upside down.
Hr told Coltman: “Mrs Horseman faced the most serious of injuries, yet you who caused it face a sentence, if convicted after trial, which could only merit two years.
“Where death is caused there could be a manslaughter charge.
“This is not so here.
“There was inflicting grievous bodily harm as an alternative charge, but the crown has not pursued that.”
The judge, having been shown CCTV of people crossing East Street, added: “Perhaps the council should review the road.
“I saw a lot of fast cyclists.”

It’s frankly bizarre to post a complaint about a free website that you’re not compelled to visit. OP, genuinely interested to hear what you thought the result would be? A heartfelt thank-you for the advice and editorial control?
It looks like Dave has closed their account, so we’re not likely to get a response from redrobot.
They were certainly acting strangely – lots of forum posts that sounded like they were written by a 12 year old or a troll (why not both?). Then, after insulting the site design, content and readership, they called Dave’s bluff (not a bluff) on deleting their account.
