I will go into more detail shortly about Cain and his situation, but here is something I wrote up when someone asked about donating an item.

So here you go, rip into this till your wee hearts are content.

I forgot to enter the indoor crit before the 10th, so I’ve set my eyes on this one.

Hopefully there’ll be some other first year juniors there as well.

Also, my new kit hasn’t arrived yet, so I’m wearing all black.

Good luck Raleigh, sounds like you could be a bit short of gears being a junior though 😕

Not get yourself some Road.cc kit?? 😀

    Your travel insurance
Your travel insurance wouldn’t cover it most likely anyway, because you need it to include sporting goods. Best this is to phone your current insurance provider and see what they can add on for you. 😉

I’m not sure about the sportive, but the triathlon will be done, trying to challenge myself without over doing it and building up for bigger things in the future as I adjust to being a recumbent rider.

Dont get me wrong, I love it more than anything, but its totally new being only a recumbent rider and need to build up to being able to do big rides again. So maybe by the middle/end of the year I can do the 50 mile events, then 2014 build up to longer ones and maybe some massive ones.

Right, just had a quick scan.
Right, just had a quick scan. I don’t know your size, so there are a mixture of things in here, 9 bikes. Not suggesting you should buy any of them or that any are better than others.

But it gives you things to think about regarding the specs.

A couple of Di2 bikes in there aswell 😉

    What grouppo does your Caad9
What grouppo does your Caad9 have?

I just ask, because you are looking at what I think is the highest spec SRAM groupset. I may be wrong though.

So if you spec down a step maybe. Save a couple of hundred and that way you can fit room for a nice set of wheels and a finishing kit.

If you are spending £1700 on a frame and parts, you are going to want a decent set of wheels, so budget in £300 for that, then think about carbon or not for the bars.

You could quite easily spend your £2500, but bringing the spec of your groupset down one step, could take you nearer the £2000.

Have a hunt around all the big online retailers, Wiggle, Evans, J E James, Chain Reactions….etc

There are some bargins to be had on 2012 full bikes. Maybe pop into your LBS, they might have some decent 2012 bikes aswell, but not so heavily discounted at the online guys.

I’m having supper just now, but will have a look around for you 😉

Will be chasing up the rest of the items tomorrow to try and get this auction started and let you all know where the money will be heading in a “Pay it forward” kind of thing.

I will be helping a 10 year old get a bike suited to his needs with all the money raised from the auction 😉

    I don’t think there is
I don’t think there is anything wrong with buying second hand carbon, as long as you know its been well looked after.

But the owner of that bike should get a banning order from ever owning a bike again, cruelty to bikes should become a law.

I’ve seen kids bikes that have been used day in day out for years in better shape.
