We’ve made the decision not to continue road.cc Fantasy Cycling into 2025. We’d like to extend our thanks to everyone that’s been a part of the game over the 12 years it’s been running, especially those of you who have helped with scoring, team transfers and answering questions on the forum. It’s had a good run.

We’re sad to be closing the game, but the reality is that it runs at a loss, even with volunteers doing most of the scoring, and is built on a dated codebase that is no longer reliable. It would require significant development to update the game, and in the current commercial climate that’s not something that we can commit to. If you’re interested in taking on the hosting and running of the game then we’re happy to start a conversation about that: you can email us at game@road.cc

Thanks to everyone who made this the best cycling fantasy game I’ve come across. I dropped out last season after deciding it was just to addictive. Oh and the fact I was never gonna catch Waterloo. Gave it a good go mind! If anyone finds a good one ( Not Velogames) perhaps they could let folk know on here. Cheers everyone.

It’s a shame it never really took off, I used to play a lot and for a few seasons was helping to run the back end. It was a really enjoyable one with the forum interaction. Sadly it never took off mainstream and many sites seem to be running similar now. PCS have their own game, which I believe has become the main fantasy league for most?

Cheers! I’ve said it before but you were the player who seemed most similar to me in terms of strategy. If you picked a rider and I didn’t I would be left with terrible FOMO until the results were in!

Thanks Dave for clarification. I think most of us guessed the game was up! Thank you for providing me with a lot of entertainment over the last few years. I will miss it but will doubtless find something else to plunge headfirst into. Thanks also to everyone else involved in keeping the game functioning in spite of late starting lists and time differences! Finally, thank you to my fellow competitors. I have cursed you on many occasions when you have picked better than me but always with respect! I guess I will now never win the Grand Tour I coveted but I did OK. Cheers, Paul.
