“I’m all yours, son” – family bonds are a theme, but what makes this one for is the surrounding buildings and brickwork .

I dislike the technique of
I dislike the technique of monochromed background as is pretty hackneyed, but it gives emphasis to the subjects, and when several works are taken together generate that drab atmosphere of late afternoons in November, invariably a Sunday in my experience. His skies become monotonous after seeing a few of his works and it is only in snow scenes that there is an proper treatment of light and shadow.
The colour figures convey a childhood joy, made all the poignent (and why I thought I’d do a thread on them) by the loss of this today. His rendition of the faces in the wall poster is better than that of the children.

the Guardian article was a bit on the long side for me, but when I read ‘The telly was off the wall, plates were smashed,’ I’m thinking there’s no chance that they left teenagers home alone for Easter or something, a Facebook/ friends of friends party ensued and now the squirrels are getting the blame?
