Anyone know how to retrieve old posts one has written?
A little while back I submitted a question on wheelbuilding. Did not get an answer, so assumed nobody knew it.
Now I think might have forgotten to check the email notification box – doh ?.
Any ideas how I search posts against my user name?

    Yes, that’s simpler. I was

Yes, that’s simpler. I was thinking of times when I want to restrict it to the forum – e.g. if I am looking for a general topic like ‘mudguards’ and want to filter out the reviews on the main site.

You can also get away with

You can also get away with Googling road.cc: <whatever your memorable phrase or keywords are. So I can find my Lancashire Constabulary one with road.cc: Lies, Damn’ lies. The <space> after the <:> seems to be important

    It really shouldn’t be so

It really shouldn’t be so hard to navigate the forum. The lack of an integrated search option or post history makes it really unfriendly finding any thread that’s dropped off the first few pages. It also means people are more likely to start a fresh thread when there may be an existing one with relevant useful info.

However, I’ve found you can do a passable job by asking Google to search the forum only – especially if you remember terms from the thread title. E.g. in this case, the following search would have done the job:

    site:https://road.cc/content/forum/ RS010

(You need to type all the above text including ‘site’ – can’t work out how to present it in a way which doesn’t turn into an apparent hyperlink)

I don’t think there was ever a single thread, was there? More down to the one-man campaign by swldxer to issue a correction every time wing mirror is used.

    Pedant mode: on…

It can’t be a correction if one is complaining about something that is already correct. It’s just unnecessary complaining at that point.

    Unfortunately there isn’t one

Unfortunately there isn’t one, though many have asked for the feature to be added. Best I can suggest is if you can recall the rough date you should be able to look around then on the forum topic list and find it.

ETA Here you go, had a quick skim back and found it: https://road.cc/content/forum/which-shimano-hub-shimano-rs010-wheel-299515
