Gosh, who knew? Thank-you for confirming that Physics is a thing.

Yet it needs to be said, put in a chart and posted and re-posted. Drivers prefer to deny the daily  road deaths and serious injuries, made worse still by vehicle weight, air pollution and all the rest.

Is it (from some driver’s responses in the media) that not only are they not able to see the specified distance, but in fact they’re unable to see beyond their own bonnet?

“Frankly – I couldn’t make out the hood ornament to tell whether I was in the vintage Bentley or the Mercedes,” said Colonel Blimp.  “Fortunately, the presence of the chauffeur reminded me it was my Rolls”.

The thought of deep-fried squirrel in a snail gravy is making me bilious.  Mary Berry reduction or no.

Although if it takes eating the little tree rats to reduce their numbers I will do my duty.

    New analysis of relationship

New analysis of relationship between car weight and fatal collision rates in the UK finds “ppl driving heavier cars are disproportionately involved in more fatal collisions”. Particularly the case for those involving other cars or pedestrians.

I’m no gastropod, but I don’t think you’re supposed to serve squirrel deep-fried with the skin still on. Mary Berry must be turning in her grave.

I’m pretty sure the dear lady is still very much alive and kicking. Reports of her demise are at least, a tad premature.

    The 6 is an S in PNP-speak, I think.

The N14 effort is now barely worth the plastic it is printed on.

“Ah but look over there” is standard distraction stuff.

    I don’t know – that seems a bit lame. What’s the “6” doing there?

“John and Jackie are giddy for the gas”?! I suspect N14GAS was already a post hoc rationalisation based on what ‘GAS’ suffix plates were actually available to buy.

I also love the unsupported claim in the article that “many people are now worried that postcodes could also be considered offensive”.

I’m mainly just playing devil’s advocate here, but the DVLA did seem to be taking the piss by only offering their original purchase price back to them without any accounting for inflation. However, personalised plates are often somewhat tacky, so I don’t have much sympathy for the Cookes either.

well that sounds like a clincher to me. Other acceptable evidence would be that the Cookes are long standing season ticket holders.

I was put in mind of the Corfe Castle Enid Blyton shop from a few years ago and found that she’s still out there on the inter web with her “I’m not a racist, but here’s my rules on who is OK and who isn’t” schtick.
