A new catch-all Tea Shop thread for those miscellaneous new stories that don’t quite fit with parking, crashing into buildings or trapped/prisoners in their homes.

You see, if they’d been driving an original old Mini then it would have fitted on that footway and they would have just carried on trucking

I took my parents to Jeremy
I took my parents to Jeremy Clarkson’s Diddly Squat Farm Shop – it was worth the wait
I’d been eager to visit the Cotswolds farm ever since it was announced in 2020, so was thrilled to finally have the opportunity after my parents announced they were visiting
Another reporter visits, but struggles to conceal a series of disappointments. I mean what’s an hour’s wait in the hot sun for er “While I could have easily spent more time browsing the shop, the queue system made me feel slightly rushed. The meats and cheeses were enticing, especially the sausage rolls, but due to our plans later that day, I didn’t get a chance to buy any.”
I’m pleased to report she did get an empty Diddly Squat glass milk bottle and outside the shop were “strawberries, courgettes in various colours, spring onions, and broccolli” and a broken-down milk “cow juice” machine.

Campaigners welcome Mill Road
Campaigners welcome Mill Road bridge court case judgement as ‘taxpayer money wasted’
A court has ruled on the second legal challenge concerning the bus gate
The spokesperson continued: “We hope that this court case will now draw a line under the challenges to the bus gate that have cost local taxpayers so much money. It is important to remember that there is no such thing as the status quo. Nobody voted to allow a threefold increase in motor vehicle numbers since 1970 or for them to become so much larger.
“Calls to reduce traffic on Mill Road are attested in newspaper articles and political leaflets going back over 50 years and it is shameful that a C road was ever allowed to carry 12,000 vehicles a day.

Supermarket makes huge car
Supermarket makes huge car park change and people driving a car for trivial reasons are furious
A Welsh supermarket’s plan to reintroduce parking fees has split opinion among locals
A third person added: “I park there. I shop there. Sometimes I just need milk or a birthday card so I object to the £5 minimum spend. Take it directly off the shopping and it’s fair.”

This nonsense is revealed to be a sales pitch – the reason you’re unhappy is you haven’t got the car you want 😭😭😭
Third of drivers say they no longer enjoy driving
Drivers miss journeys the way they used to be
The average Brit hasn’t ‘belted out a tune’ in the car for 10 months. It’s been over a year since most had a heart-to-heart while driving, and 27% say they’ve never gone for a solo drive just to clear their head

Jimmy Choo CEO banned from driving. Tough one that, as I’m sure you can’t walk far in those heels.

I did it a few times when I first got my MINI. 1st is left and forward, reverse is more left and forward. There’s no collar to push up, nor any need to lift or push down on the shifter.
My previous few manual transmissions were five speed, so reverse was where 6th is on this one. First was just push left as far as it goes, then forward. My Subaru allegedly wouldn’t even let you try to stupidly go 5-R without passing through neutral. I never tried.

Also, it doesn’t appear that
Also, it doesn’t appear that this is a ‘self-driving’ car, so this excuse could presumably be used for any reasonably recent car out there.

I presume that they lied or exaggerated about how rogue their car had actually gone? In which case, was the ‘fraud by misrepresentation’ separate to the motoring incident, or did they get a fraud accusation instead of ‘perverting the course of justice’?

That’s not quite the version
That’s not quite the version of The New ‘It Wasn’t My Fault!’ Dodge I had in mind, but it will do for a start. The mainstream version will be ‘It wasn’t my fault that I crashed into that school and killed chidren with my GrossPanzer’
