This was not a case of dangerous driving with a flagrant disregard of the rules. That lawyer should get disbarred or prosecuted for perjury for spouting that rubbish. Just the drunk driving would count as a flagrant disregard of the rules and being so blind drunk that you can’t figure out which way to drive on a motorway is hardly any kind of excuse.

Denny was also given a 20-month suspended prison sentence and banned from driving for 10 years at a sentencing hearing on Friday.
Quite a long ban, so doubtful if she will drive again.

2 million won’t cover the cost of consultants to say it can’t be done…

Those links don’t work for me, but I’ve found the article: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leicestershire-65633762
The reporter’s name is Caroline Lowbridge – I wonder if she specialises in these topics?

Officers were called to Clingoe Hill, Colchester, after reports a car had crashed into a tree.An onlooker ran to the 19-year-old driver’s assistance, offering for him to borrow their mobile phone.
The driver then fled the scene with the borrowed phone, but he failed to outsmart police officers who tracked him down using the phone’s technology.https://www.gazette-news.co.uk/news/23536260.find-iphone-helps-essex-police-arrest-drunk-driver/

More stories of road
More stories of road hooliganism and van-dalism published today (Friday) by the Shropshire Star:
- 1 casualty airlifted to hospital after van crashes into 3 pedestrians in Oswestry at 1.25pm (see pic). The other 2 were ‘not seriously injured’.
- Telford driver with ‘no licence and no seatbelt’ with children in car this afternoon. Vehicle seized.
- Bridgnorth Chamber of Commerce says the town is losing “tens of millions” in revenue a year because there aren’t enough parking spaces on the main street. Bullshit IMO.
- Motorcyclist injured in 3pm crash with a van on the A49 near Shrewsbury.
- A mini-bus crashed into barriers in a 2-vehicle collision on the A5 near Oswestry at around 2pm.
- Selfish parents parking on zig-zags outside a primary school near Chirk.
