? a ban but really? Just tell them “that’s enough, you’re done with driving now, get a mobility vehicle / trike” for Pete’s sake.

Pensioner banned from road after (driving through red light and) mowing down nine-year-old in front of her mum

When told about the (12 months) ban, Hopkins pleaded: ‘Oh, please don’t. Where I live there are no shops. The nearest shop is over a mile away.’

Fears Devon town could lose world status over parking plan.

Thousands of people have backed the ‘Stop the Meters’ campaign

Mrs Sanders  (Tavistock BID manager Janna Sanders) worries that having to input a car registration number into a machine could cause unnecessary stress, especially if they also have to use a phone or app to pay. “They just want to pop into the grocery shop or the butchers, have a chat and buy something quickly. Having to negotiate parking meters is going to change everything about our high street. We are thinking about people’s mental health as well as supporting the businesses we care about.”

    Drivers really don’t respond

Drivers really don’t respond very well to suggestions from passengers.

You know, you don’t have to use the phone, This is schoolkid time, we don’t have to be going this fast, It’s very wet and were not in a rush can we not go so fast.

And the suggestion to my parents they might like to give a cyclist more room when passing on an urban dual carriageway was met with a full on argument and me refusing to be driven by them for several years.

Parents of teenager who died in crash give plea for passengers to voice concerns with driver

They should also be concerned over the failure to drug test the driver for 12 hours! Surely it should be one of the first things they did?

Poor Policing. Poor lad didn’t deserve to die at such a young age. And only 30 weeks: poor!

The parents have also called on companies to provide a method for people to report concerns about a colleague’s driving

Jacob sent a message to his friend minutes before he died, saying: “My driver’s stoned. Lovely.”

It begins to look like full

It begins to look like full road closures, rather than for example SALT is yet another thing drivers have brought on themselves in recent years.

A house built on cars is built on sand:

A448: The Fox Inn boss ‘stressed’ over road closure

The work by Severn Trent on the A448 started in May 2023 but had to be abandoned due to a road worker being seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle.

The closure is in place 24/7 and there is no through route to Kidderminster from Bromsgrove between Harvington Hall Lane and Dobes Lane.

Love this image, with what appears to be the sea wall covered in tyres and the upturned car being buried by the sand, like those “last of the dinosaurs” visions…
