The latest cross racer from Genesis has a full Sram Rival 1x Drivetrain and 12mm thru axles front and rear, with the geometry tweaked to make it the perfect agressive CX steed. It has a wider bottom bracket area on the non-driveside and boxed chainstays that Genesis say increases the stiffness and power transfer, help also by the high-end 30/40T Modulus Carbon frame with full internal cable routing. Rapha Hooded Rain Jacket II

The sequel to Rapha's flagship hooded rain jacket has a three-layer softshell for the ultimate in wet weather protection. The seams are fully sealed, and when the weather is really shocking you can adjust the elasticated hem and tighten the integrated drawcord on the hood to provide additional shelter. A full length two-way zip allows the jacket to be opened from the waist, and the underarms have laser cut ventilation to prevent overheating. Rotor 2inPower crankset

The latest version of Rotor's power crankset is now even lighter, with direct mount chainrings bringing the weight down to 775g. The number of strain gauges is doubled over the original Rotor power crankset to provide left/right leg balance data. It's bluetooth and ANT+ compatible, and there's a usb-rechargeable li-ion battery. Power data is provided for each leg independently to give precise feedback, with eight axle-based strain gauges in total providing a measurement that Rotor say is super-accurate. The 2inPower is on Dave Atkinson's bike now, with a verdict due early in the new year.

Giant ARX 24 kid's bike

This junior bike from Giant promises adult performance in a smaller size, with an aluminium frame and stable geometry to provide a nippy, balanced ride. The Shimano Altus 1x8 gearing provides a decent range and easy maintenance, and Giant's alloy rims with Innova 24x1.5 tyres should provide plenty of robustness and protection over varying terrain. Specialized S-Works Turbo Cotton tyres

The fastest tyre from Specialized, the Turbo Cotton uses their Gripton compound with a supple 320 TPI cotton casing. It's availabe in 24, 26 and 28mm sizes, with the 24mm weighing in at 220g and the 28mm approximately 260g. Is this truly the world's fastest tyre? Liam Cahill will be trying to determine if it feels like it in his review due later this month...
