They say you should have a cap for every occasion. Shutt VR bring some lovely UK tweed to the party. with the limited edition green tweed cap. It also brings with it a certain air of sophistication. My dearly beloved even (tragically I dare say) compared it with the effortless cool of a Sherlock Holmes deer-stalker.
It may not go well with an all over lycra ensemble, but paired with a touch of cycling casual wear it makes a most excellent adornment for those days when a peak is required.
The cap itself, like all of the Shutt range, is made in the UK, and has the very minimum of embellishments. There's just a small stripy logo for a little flourish of additional colour to the rear and the Shutt script to the fore – classy.

Under, or instead, of a helmet, the choice is yours. Both work, and with breathable fabric lining the cap, moisture retention has never been an issue. Shutt caps are made in limited runs, so you can ride assured you won't be bumping into every Tom, Dick and Sally wearing the same.
What sets this cap apart from nearly all the others in my collection is its size; it's just that little bit bigger that a standard cap. That, combined with it being only lightly elasticated, makes for a snug fit that doesn't pinch, a combination that I struggle to find in most caps. In my book it's most definitely a winner.
Verdict
Nicely styled cap, with enough snugness to fit, but able to cope with the slightly larger head.

Cycling caps have been part of cycling since it began.. Great to see a British Brand actually making a traditional cycling cap in Britain..
Come on Rapha you can too!
The inside looks nice, looks
The inside looks nice, looks like it’s well made and I do like tweed, but it’s not really for me. Maybe on a cold autumnal evening, on the way to the Watson Pub, preferably with lots of fog and and all that. I wonder if pipes will have made a complete comeback by then…
