SRAM pART project Gala and Auction to raise money for World Bicycle Relief

Latest collection of artwork using nothing but bicycle components and a creative imagination

SRAM's pART project has become an annual celebration of art based on products produced by the component manufacturer and the latest collection will go up for auction in New York City next month.

There's expected to be some 90 new works of art on show produced by 95 noted artists. For the first time there will be works of collage as well as sculpture. A winner will be picked on the evening with the grand prize an all-expenses-paid trip for two to Africa to witness the work of World Bicycle Relief first-hand.

100 per cent of the proceeds of the artwork and the tickets to the evening going to the World Bicycle Relief. The purchase of two tickets will fund two bicycles for people in need.

So what of the artwork? SRAM has continued to raise eyebrows with the creativity displayed by the artists who work from a huge box of SRAM parts, and this year's collection is no different. Here then are a few highlights of the new pieces.

If you're in New York, the auction is on November 29 at the Cedar Lake Theater. More details here.

David worked on the road.cc tech team from 2012-2020. Previously he was editor of Bikemagic.com and before that staff writer at RCUK. He's a seasoned cyclist of all disciplines, from road to mountain biking, touring to cyclo-cross, he only wishes he had time to ride them all. He's mildly competitive, though he'll never admit it, and is a frequent road racer but is too lazy to do really well. He currently resides in the Cotswolds, and you can now find him over on his own YouTube channel David Arthur - Just Ride Bikes
