Police witness appeal after Glasgow cyclist dies in hit and run incident

Witnesses sought to rush-hour cycling fatality

Strathclyde Police are appealing for witnesses following an incident during yesterday's evening rush hour when an as yet un-named 22-year old male cyclist was fatally injured in a collision with a dark coloured vehicle.

The incident occurred on Paisley Road West near the junction with Portman Street at about 5.45pm - the vehicle, which was heading westbound did not stop after the collision and according to a report on the BBC website continued on in the direction of Paisley. The cyclist was taken to Southern General Hospital, but died there shortly after arrival.

Anyone with information relating to the incident is asked to contact the Road Policing Unit at Strathclyde Police on 0141 532 5400.
