Tyre pressure calculator

Hi - I know this has been asked a trillion times, but I couldn't find a search function on here to try and find the other posts, so can someone point me in the direction of an app or website which has a decent (and easy to use) calculator. I'm just trying to find a good starting point for a 69kg rider on 28s. Thank you 1

This seems to work quite well - if you're OK with the '15% drop' method.

People make this topic far, far too complicated.

My rule of thumb for 700x25 is to start with: rider weight (kg) in the front tyre (psi), put an additional 10 psi for the rear tyre. Try it out for a few rides. Add or reduce pressure in each tyre in 10 psi increments until you find a sensation that you are happy with.

For 700x28 you might like drop the starting point by 5-10 psi but IME there are no firm rules. It's entirely personal and anyone getting proscriptive should relax and take a few deep breaths. And gauge accuracy is a red herring, though it helps if it is consistent.

Excellent. I've stupidly spent years pumping my tyres up as hard as they'll go without giving a second thought as to how it would affect the ride, so I'm grateful for all the advice.

Silca just launched this, which they claim to be the World's most advanced; looks very comprehensive...

First big question would be tubeless or standard clincher? If the latter, just run 75f/85r and see how you get on. Simple.

Sorry yes, I should have mentioned I'm running standard clinchers. Thanks for the advice I'll give that a try and see how it goes!

There's quite a few good ones on the first page of hits. Search function on road.cc is fairly dreadful, even after the lastest re-write - you're usually better off using straight Google with the 'site' option or similar for your search engine of choice.
