Mechanical disk brake gets stuck

It only happens when I over push the brake lever. The spring seems to work fine when stopping slowely, but what is the point of having disk brakes when you can't stop imediatly... Any suggestions on what could be causing?

1st thing to check is your cables and are they running smoothly.  Seen it too aften that a bit of rust on the cable enters the outer then won't come out again.

If all that seems fine, recenter and adjust your pads, mechanical discs need adjusted to allow for pad wear over time.
