Our cycle ride is an inclusive, non-competitive bike ride, open to all riders regardless of experience. The event aims to unite the community in celebration of cycling, cleaner air, and the vibrant sights of London.
This year marks a milestone as the event rebrands to the London Clean Air Cycle Ride, ahead of the launch of the London Clean Air Initiative. We are now extending the scenic route to include Westminster and Islington. The new route underscores our commitment to improving air quality throughout London, as we expand our services to neighbouring boroughs.
The London Clean Air Cycle Ride 2024 will be held on Saturday, 29 June, with staggered departures from 09:30 to 11:30. Riders will pass through Camden Town, Primrose Hill, and Hampstead Heath. The ride also includes a modified route through Regent's Park to include Westminster, and a new addition, the Barnsbury Conservation Area in Islington, among others. Starting and finishing at Granary Square in King's Cross, the route features selected coffee shops for refreshment stops and fully recyclable wooden medals for all finishers.
We are committed to making our cycle ride more accessible every year, as we believe cycling is for everyone. For any riders that prefer to be guided, they can book a marshalled ride at no additional cost. More confident riders can opt for a self-guided ticket and ride at their own pace. Thanks to our partner Forest (aka HumanForest), free e-bikes will be available to pre-book. This ensures that those who don't own a bike, or are less able to cycle long distances can still join the ride. We are also collaborating with fellow local not-for-profit, Your Bike Project, to provide free bike hire for those in receipt of benefits.
