Get the date in your diary... It's MRC's BIG RED RIDE 2020.
#MRC #MansfieldRC #MRCBRR #BigRedRide2020
Those who have ridden the event before will need no introduction to the Big Red Ride.
For those yet to sample its delights... it's probably one of the area's biggest mass participation bike rides - its not a race - not a sportive - not a charity ride - or a time trial or clubrun... it's a reliability trial, something that has been popular with clubs and individuals since the fifties.
Riders set off in groups of differing abilities with the aim of completing the pre-determined route within specified times - thus proving if they are 'reliable' or not.... Simple really.
The BRR has something for everyone - a steady ride for those who want a leisurely ride through some of north Nottinghamshire's best cycling roads; an intermediate ride for those who want to step the pace but still want to be able to breathe enough for a chat en-route or; a downright leg-breaking challenge (it's not race.).
There will as usual be the choice of a long, medium or short route. This year's routes will be new and exciting and you will be able to download copies of the routes once entered online.
Everyone is welcome to come along and join-in, individuals, clubs or teams. Any type of bike and any ability level.
The event headquarters will be the John Fretwell Sporting Complex, Sookholme Road, Sookholme, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, NG19 8LL, where ample safe parking & changing rooms will be available. There will also be food and drink available to purchase before and after the event.
The routes are a real tour of some of the districts nicest and enjoyable cycling roads and lanes, passing through some really beautiful countryside.
It's a cycling challenge with something for everyone so please spread the word and lets have a day to remember - with all riders finishing wearing a smile and wanting to come back for more...
How does Mr Lucy tell you he's a bit of an arsehole without telling you he's a bit of an arsehole?
Of course they are, and not so different. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09B662CDN?crid=34M42BETAMFT0&th=1 The bugger's got four versions up now!
At least the van driver was nowhere near the stationary cyclist.
The BMX racers are also no longer being supported. Kye Whyte said he's lost his GT sponsorship. It also looks like GT will no longer make BMX bikes.

I think road.cc provides a good service, and should not be criticised for publicising these 'aspirational purchases'. They have to keep this worthy...
Nah I'm not sure it's the top end that's the issue. I'd hazard that if someone out there wants and can afford a 15k bike then they will still be...
Lisa Townsend very much views her police role through a political lens....
Museum thread, but hey. I had one of these, before I saw this review. And it's spot on. The review, not the bike. I put up with it for a couple...
