The Dartmoor Cycle Training Camp has been specifically designed around the Sportive cyclist, looking to build their bike skills & personal fitness in preparation for their 2014 Sportive cycling season. It is a one-week residential camp that runs from Bellever Youth Hostel, nestled right in the heart of Dartmoor National Park.
This intense training camp is a collaboration between local cycling specialists, all of whom share a passion for road cycling and have an intimate knowledge of Dartmoor National Park.
Our Training Camp is not just guided rides on Dartmoor. This is a well crafted week of progressive cycle training that will cover all of the key elements of road cycling through training rides and evening classroom session. Following your initial fitness assessment and private consultation with a training coach, you will be assigned to a small group of fellow cyclists who share similar abilities. This will ensure that stronger riders are able to gain the maximum from their training rides, whilst allowing others to progress at their own pace without being overwhelmed.
During the day, each group will complete a training ride, with each days ride getting progressively harder. The daily rides are varied to cover specific training objectives and each group will have two ride leaders who will be there to coach and support you. At the end of each ride there will be a post-ride recovery session, essential for any effective training. During this time you will also have ample opportunity to reflect on what you have learnt and ask any questions you may have. After your shower and evening meal there will be a classroom training session with a different topic covered each evening. Each session is taught by a specialist in that field and they will be available post-lesson to answer any questions you may have. You can view the full week's training schedule from the appropriate link above.
