It’s nearly a year ago since the team road.cc crew headed up to Sheffield for a rideout and we must have been well behaved because Decathlon have invited us back for another go.

Being situated just a few miles from the Peak District the area lends itself well to some challenging riding and excellent scenery so the guys at Decathlon are going to come up with a couple of routes. The usual 25-30 miles for the shorter and 35-40 miles for the longer version and if you haven’t been on one of our rideouts before then the best way to describe them is a friendly club run basically.
We’ll have ride leaders and back markers for each ride and everyone is looked after and kept within the group.

The plan is to meet up at Decathlon by 9am for coffee on Sunday 2nd October with a quick rider briefing to follow at 9:30. We’ll then depart on whichever route you choose before returning for more refreshments and socialising. Every rider that turns up will also receive a goody bag from Decathlon.
Interested?
Then get your name down here, we have limited spaces so don’t hang about and it’s all completely free!!

Perhaps head over to Monsal
Perhaps head over to Monsal Hill Climb?

Some would say it’s the best HC event other than Nationals from a spectators side of things. Regular riders include the Downing brothers, Graham Briggs, Jessie walker, Dame Sarah Storey, Adam Blythe and there is talk of Ben Swift having a bang this year. Course record is held by Malcolm Elliott (Google him if you don’t know who this legend is)
You might even get to see me race
I promise it’s well worth a watch and there are loads of cafes and pubs about for the usual Sunday cycling munchies.
