Koga are launching a new version of their WorldTraveller29 trekking bike in their 2014 range. It will be available in a limited run from August.

The WorldTraveller29, designed for long rides in tough conditions, was first introduced a couple of years ago with mountain bike-inspired qualities and 29in wheels. It won a Red Dot design award and a Eurobike Gold Award.

The new version comes in a grey metallic finish with a design of black continents and silver animal motifs. The blue accent colour is carried through to the inner plates of the KMC 10-speed chain. That chain has a Diamond Like Coating to reduce friction.

The smooth-welded frame is fully hand built from triple hardened/triple butted 6069 tubing. The headset is integrated and the derailleur hanger is replaceable.

The WorldTraveller29 comes with Shimano’s versatil SLX groupset – a triple chainset matched up with a 10-speed cassette rather than a 9-speed cassette as previously used on the WorldTraveller29 – with a Shadow rear derailleur.

The rear wheel comes with a Shimano Deore XT freehub and it’s built with 40 spokes for the extra strength needed when carrying heavy luggage. Magura HS11 hydraulic rim brakes provide the stopping power.

The new version of the WorldTraveller29 will cost £1,899. For more info go to www.koga.com.
