This morning I attended a bike breakfast in Islington (London) which was stationed along a very busy cycle route behind Angel tube station. It was a glorious day and the cycle path was incredibly busy with people pedaling their way into work. For any rider that chose to dismount and take a break were rewarded with homemade cake, croissants, brownies, orange juice, tea and coffee , even their bikes checked by a team of Bike Doctors and the obligatory flyer thrust upon them. This was all set up by the Islington division of the LCC (London Cycling Campaign) and it was free. I loved it, it involved bicycles and food. Tomorrow the bike breakfast is practically in my back yard in London Fields and it even promises porridge! Hopefully see you there from 7.30am.

@jackcycles two-tier justice you say? Quite, that would never happen with driving - they throw the book * at you if you break the law then. You certainly wouldn't just be given "points" and a second chance, or allowed to do a course rather than paying a fine! * The Beano?
@jackcycles Sorry you didn't see it. We covered this story twice on our live blog on Wednesday and Thursday, and the original announcement back in January: https://road.cc/content/news/safety-film-option-cyclists-who-run-red-lights-317487
"yellow tan" ! They are yellow, the René Herse mentioned above were tan.
Good to see the rest of the world catching up to where René Herse were a decade ago 😎 https://road.cc/content/review/rene-herse-antelope-hill-endurance-tyre-302063
@slc I went to have a look last time I visited and I can only concur. It was a hellscape of parked cars * with the deadening silence of the ghost town only broken by the chirping of birds, chatter of people out in the streets, the occasional ringing of a bell and the wailing and gnashing of teeth from a couple of houses with all the "stop the ELBN" signs. Doubtless the worst fears of the fire brigade and the disabled woman with that minibus have come true. I can only assume the local Greens are running a "bulldoze an A-road through for social justice" campaign! * Actually I did really notice those, packed together filling up most of the space, same as before I guess...
@chrisonabike Here in Bristol the EBLN has created a ghetto, where wealthy pedestrians, bus passengers, and of course cyclists in tafetta gowns travel through only to mock the honest residents, who are forced to take great detours, queuing in traffic created by the council, to the shop next door. That is why local Labour are so keen to repent of their decision to create it. Nothing to do with the greens having since won the EBLN wards to become the largest party on the council.
Ferguson's rant about the definition of culture makes him sound like he has the type of sociopathic traits endemic to top level management of any sport or business. At least Brailsford could back up being a questionable human with sporting success. I can't tell if it's honest naivety or willful delusion, but there is clearly a history of poor communication, so either there was legacy he needed to address, or more likely given the lack of evidence of any corrective actions, the toxic culture still persists. "The beatings will continue untill morale improves"
New research provides yet more evidence that water is wet. A separate new study providing meta analysis of the prior water-is-wet studies indicates that a disturbingly large demographic is *still* surprised by the findings of the water-is-wet studies, and are suffering significant cognitive dissonance.
@the little onion It hardly matters. Trump, Farage etc. show that where their anti-cyclist, anti-active travel, anti-LTN, anti-climate change, anti-immigrant, anti- traffic law, pro-drive and park everywhere at all times nutters are concerned, the criminality of their heroes is of no concern.
