Tom Pidcock’s going to need a bigger wardrobe at this rate. Yesterday, the 18-year-old from Yorkshire added the under-23 national champion’s title in cyclo-cross to his already impressive palmares – and he’s uploaded his winning ride in Sunderland to Strava.
In a dominant race-winning performance, Pidcock averaged 22.3 kilometres an hour in the 18.9-kilometre race, and hit a top speed of 43.9 kilometres an hour.

Currently, Pidcock holds rainbow jerseys at junior level for his world championship wins in cyclo-cross 12 months ago and in the time trial in Bergen last September.
Despite his youth, he is also the reigning British national circuit race champion, triumphing in Sheffield last July against the country’s top crit riders.
Next weekend he will be looking to win the Under-23 cycloi-cross world championship in Valkenburg in the Netherlands.
Given he has already assured himself of the age group World Cup title with two rounds to spare, it’s a race he starts as a strong favourite.

His winning move was to jump
His winning move was to jump the hurdles – no other rider did this and super impressive for such a short rider. https://www.flickr.com/photos/britishcyclingphotos/39657558002/in/album-72157664669176478
