White mountain bike shoes? Really? I suppose they are pretty spiffy if you are just riding your £10,000 MTB round the corner to sit outside your local gastropub in Chelsea but otherwise...
E-road bikes are unavoidable for 70+ mamils who need to negotiate steep hills on their return from a 3 hr cycling trip. Especially if they tore a meniscus or two. Other users find them simply glorious for the added freedom they offer. None of these target groups pretend to want to compete. TQ motors are an ideal choice for e-road bikes: not too powerful, light, discreet.

@NotNigel This statement has definitely been chosen to wind up a certain, Lancashire based cyclist Doesn't wind me up, as it's clearly fiction from either a contributor, or from road.cc staff having a laugh. It's easy to prove a positive- the successful Lancashire (or anywhere else, I'm always asking but they never reply} submitter sends the link to the online offence video and the letter from the police stating the penalty that's more than the joke letter or course, or the result of the court case. I'm still waiting. Conversely, its very difficult to prove the negative that the police have done sod all. But, they haven't
