Warner Bros. Discovery and the UCI have finalised the much-anticipated calendar for the 2024 UCI Mountain Bike World Series. The upcoming season is set to feature 15 race weekends, spanning various mountain bike disciplines, and will take riders to 10 countries across Europe, North America, and South America. Six brand-new venues have been added to the lineup, promising a thrilling season for mountain bike spectators and racers alike.

The UCI World Series will cover the full spectrum of mountain biking, including cross-country Olympic (XCO), short track (XCC), downhill (DHI) and enduro (EDR), with the addition of E-enduro (E-EDR). The 2024 calendar promises an exciting lineup with a total of eight stops for the cross-country elite, seven for downhill enthusiasts, and six for enduro racers. It’s worth noting that there is one fewer race for both downhill and enduro riders in 2024 compared to the previous year.

The season kicks off with cross-country races in Brazil, featuring back-to-back race weekends in Mairiporã and Araxá, Minas Gerais, both of which are new venues. Joining them as first-time hosts are Bielsko-Biala in Poland, Crans-Montana and Aletsch Arena in the Valais region of Switzerland, along with Mt Van Hoevenberg in Lake Placid, USA.

“Expansion into South America and long-term agreements in Lake Placid in the USA, Trentino in Italy, and Haute-Savoie in France are hallmarks to a season that offers more racing than ever before,” Chris Ball, VP of Cycling Events at Warner Bros. Discovery Sports – the series’ official broadcaster – commented.

Who to watch?

In quite possibly his final season, we can expect cross-country legend Nino Schurter to attempt to win his 10th World Cup title, while the multi-discipline talents such as Tom Pidcock and Pauline Ferrand-Prevot will continue to make us wonder how one rider can transfer so smoothly from one podium to another.

Bombing it down on the updated downhill circuits, we can expect last year’s top racers, including Red Bull  Hardline winner Jackson Goldstone, Loic Bruni and Valentina Höll stand on multiple podiums again.

Where to watch?

The 2024 calendar marks the second year of the eight-year partnership between the UCI and Warner Bros. Discovery, which takes on the broadcast, promotion, and organisation of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup. This means that you can watch the 2024 UCI Mountain Bike World Series live and on-demand on Discovery+, the Eurosport app and via eurosport.com.

And of course, you can also travel to spectate the races in person around the world, too.
