Norway's Glava Tour has gained worldwide exposure today, although less for the home victories of Alexander Kristoff of Katusha, winner of today's fifth and final stage, or Edvald Boasson Hagen's overall win for Team Sky, but rather because of a bizarre incident captured on camera 12.5km from the finish when a so far unnamed Topsport Vlaanderen rider appeared to elbow Caja Rural's Fabricio Ferrari, sending the Uruguyuan crashing to the ground.

It's not clear what provoked the incident, although as you can see from this video from local broadcaster TV2, Ferrari comes out of the bunch and around the Topsport Vlaanderen rider only to be sent flying from his bike as he pulls level.

It certainly doesn't look like an accident to us – the rider seems to look round before hitting out with his elbow, and keeps looking back after Ferrari hits the deck.

It's the second year running a rider with the surname Ferrari has been involved in controversy in the month of May in Scandinavia – 12 months ago Roberto Ferrari, then with Androni Giocattoli-Venezuala, was blamed for a crash that took out Mark Cavendish among others on Stage 3 of the Giro d'Italia in Denmark.
