Want to brush up your cycle maintenance skills? Well, a series of workshops being run by British Cycling next month in London, Manchester and Birmingham aimed at beginner and intermediate cyclists will give you the chance to do just that. The workshops will be led by Peter "Spike" Taylor former head mechanic with Team GB and a man dubbed the ‘the world’s best mechanic’ by Total Bike Maintenance and Repair Magazine.

The Beginner Workshop is a half-day course for new cyclists with little or no experience of maintaining a bike, while the Intermediate Workshop is a full-day course for more experienced cyclists interested in learning advanced maintenance and repair skills.
Workshop modules include bike anatomy, riding position, puncture repair, brake and gear maintenance as well as oiling, cleaning and component care.

The courses will take place in Manchester (27/28 October), London (30/31 October) and Birmingham (12/13 November). The Begginer’s Workshop costs £65 while the Intermediate one is £125.

"The new workshops will be delivered in a fun and hands-on format and are open to cyclists of all ages and abilities," says British Cycling’s Stewart Kellett.

There is no need to bring your own bike or tools, refreshments will be provided and anyone who registers for a workshop will automatically get British Cycling Ride membership worth £24 free of charge. To find out more about next month’s workshops visit the British Cycling website
