Strava, Facebook, Twitter, Endomondo, Flickr, mapmyride – these days it’s almost impossible for people to go for a ride without turning it into a multi-media event*, to the point where if someone doesn’t upload a picture or tweet it or log the miles it’s as if the ride never happened, because there’s no proof that it ever existed. Despite trying to retune the signal to noise by sneaking out for a few hours and only recording the ride in my head, heart and legs, sometimes, just sometimes you want to wave your arms in the air and show everyone just how much fun riding a bike can be.

So here’s a little film those cheeky medias whores at Morvelo made when they hijacked the traditional 100 mile ride a bunch of friends and I do to celebrate the start of Spring.

Bikes, sunshine, friends, 100, cake. What’s not to want to media clusterbomb?

(*yes, the irony of complaining about this on a cycling blog)
