@Rendel Harris "explain the distinctions between a quote and direct speech, teach!" Though TBF speaking through the words of others is and has always been common.
@mark1212123 If you can't appreciate the difference between swearing and homophobic slurs then that's very much your problem, not mine. Are you quite well? Your scattergun approach to grammar, punctuation and indeed comprehensibility is somewhat concerning and makes one wonder if an intervention might be required.
@Rendel Harris Lol. How can you employ reference to the 'C' word whilst concerned about what No Reply is laying down above? I think you may owe No Reply an apology. I cant comment on anything else because to said nothing. A tiddly rugger quote, is that all you can conjure up regarding your voices positioning? We are a long time dead I suppose.
Once again a timely reminder, cops are not our allies.
Since you ask, as a former rugby player myself I'm very much inspired by the great Italian prop forward Martin Castrogiovanni, who when asked why he hated his former Leicester coach, Richard Cockerill, said, "I don't hate anybody. Peace and love. I just don't like c--ts." Thank you for your interest.
The story about "Michael Vanthourenhout squares up to Cameron Mason" comes across as gossipy. Like the low kind of gossip that sits a millimetre above the kind of sewery gossip No Reply above is currently being text chided for. As an aside, I'm wondering if Rendell Harris could explain a little their voices moderatory energy? I've read your comments for a long while now, I'm very interested in the structure that sits behind your voices public positioning. Anyways, I am a cyclist, not a duck limpet sucking on and selling the mild story of two cyclists bumping in a competition and one going 'yah yah yah' afterwards and the brit going 'yah yah yah' but with a distasteful pasting of the mid 20th century around his performance to camera afterwards. No wonder cycling journalism currently sits in a café, in a desert, miles from anywhere, hawking aldi teabag tea to cyclists who cant stretch to £12,000 for a bike. Hahaha, the madness is mint. The contradictions feeding on our hopes, in the hope, any story will lead us to clicking on an advert.
@No Reply So you've used a pathetic juvenile homophobic slur and now anyone calling you on it is a snowflake and trying to silence your freedom of speech. They're not, you know, they're just telling you to grow up and stop using the language of a prepubescent bigot.
Older people nearly ‘wiped out’, teenagers cycling backwards, residents ‘scared’ to come into town because of cyclists . . . But no evidence, as usual. Just lies, exaggeration, misinformation, hearsay. Politicians - what are they good for?
I have seen a few of these ‘robot cars’ in London and haven’t felt intimidated or worried, yet. (Things may feel different when there are thousands of them on the road) Whenever I am near an Uber or Black cab I’m cautious as they u-turn, pull over, block cycle infrastructure at will and without signalling. The uber drivers are always looking at their phones and the cabbies are always frothing at the mouth about immigrants or the EU or sunnink. So at least the Robot Cars won’t be listening to Talk Radio and getting wound up.
having seen and been regularly around these cars in London whilst riding, the issue is their erratic behaviour, particularly on narrow, i.e. normal uk roads - its is exactly the sudden swerving or unexpected stop/freeze that is the problem for all other road users...human drives will mostly hold their line as you move past on inside or outside, these shift out of the way suddenly, over reacting to normal positioning.

Police happy to charge with attempted murder for a hit and run with a pedestrian, smash into a cyclist and you get some counselling and a ‘driving not in accordance with license’ bullshit.
Dangerous driving and/or assault causing actual bodily harm no?
