First unveiled in 2023, the Strive:ON filled Canyon’s gap for an enduro-ready e-mountain bike. Now, it’s received a fresh batch of updates, including Bosch’s updated and more potent drive system, the K.I.S steering stabiliser, and it’s built to be more durable than before. We’ve got all of the details.

The Strive:ON needs absolutely no introduction. Since its release, it’s become mighty popular with riders and racers, having taken Fabien Barel to an EDR-E win. With it, are three main headlines, with the first, and perhaps the most interesting, being that it comes equipped with Canyon’s K.I.S tech.

First seen on the old-style Canyon Spectral CF 8 and later being rolled out on the current Spectral CF models, K.I.S is Canyon’s take on a steering stabiliser. Hidden within the top tube, it’s made of a pair of springs that join to a collar that sits around the fork steerer, internally. The idea behind it is that when a handlebar is turned, tension is created within those springs, which encourages the bar and front wheel to return to their straight position, but without impeding steering feel. The result should be fewer front-wheel deflections when tackling technical terrain, thus a more stable ride. This system is adjustable, so it can influence the bike more or less, and it can be removed if it’s just not your thing.

Next up, it dons Bosch’s updated drive system. That means it boasts more power than before, offering 120Nm of torque and a peak output of 750W on both the Performance Line CX (on the 8 and 9 models) and CX-R motors (on the CFR model) that grace the range. Apparently, that means it can boost rider effort by up to 600%. The bike then uses Bosch’s 750Wh battery, and there’s an improved charging port, featuring revised sealing and better strength, says Canyon. The brand has also beefed up the motor’s skid plate while retaining the dual ‘railed’ design, built to help the skid plate slide over trail obstacles.

The carbon fibre frame, seen across the range, also gets its durability turned up to 11. It features the highest quality fibre in strategic zones on the bike while minimising the amount of resin that’s impregnated into the fibres to reduce weight.

As before, the bike employs 160mm of rear suspension travel paired with 170mm up front as well as a mixed wheel size. That’s complemented with a 63.5-degree head angle across the size range. Unfortunately, Canyon’s press release doesn’t show full geometry figures, but we’re promised long reaches and long wheelbases.

There are three Strive:ON models to choose from, with the CF8 kicking off the range, donning a RockShox Domain Gold R fork, a RockShox Super Deluxe Base shock, Shimano Deore shifting and SunRingle wheels wrapped with Schwalbe Magic Mary Performance tyres. At the other end of the range is the Strive:ON CFR. This one boasts RockShox’s latest ZEB and Vivid Ultimate suspension, SRAM’s X0 Eagle Transmission drivetrain and DT Swiss HX1700 wheels, finished with a Maxxis Assegai EXO+ up front, and a Maxxis Minion DHR II with a Double Down casing at the rear.

Prices start at €4,999 and go up to €7,499.
