Juice Lubes Tyre Juice is an ammonia-free tubeless sealant that’s easy to apply and does a great job of sealing punctures. It’s reasonably priced too, but it’s tricky to clean up and you need a little more than usual.

For your six quid, you get 140ml of liquid that’s swimming with little particles to seal those pesky punctures. It’s water washable, non-corrosive and because it uses synthetic latex, there’s no ammonia.

The pouch makes installation super easy. Simply remove your valve core, push the pouch onto the valve, flip the wheel and give it a good squeeze. There’s no mess involved, bar a smidge of stray juice around the valve.

However, when reinstalling a tyre with the sealant already in, things inevitably get a little messy and while it’s really easy to wash off your hands, it’s not as easy to wipe away. It’s not the end of the world, but be prepared to spend a little extra time on the cleanup.

Because the sealant is fairly thick it provides an impressive thin coating around the tyre that stays put, but the bulk of the liquid moves slowly around the tyre – meaning it doesn’t hit the puncture as quick as thinner sealants.

Unless you’re poking your tyres with screwdrivers, like me, this won’t be much of an issue on the move as the wheel will be moving quickly enough to compensate, but take extra care to shake the wheel when installing new tyres.

Also due to the thickness and its excellent coating ability, I found I had to add a little more than I thought because there was very little pooled in the tyre.

If a synthetic latex sealant sounds like your thing, Juice Lubes Tyre Juice does the job effectively and is fairly cheap too. Just be prepared to add a little more than normal.
