The Storm King is Sage’s new adventure focused gravel bike. Designed for those who tackle multiday adventures but also the gravel racer. Rolling two different wheel sizes, Sage offers a host of custom choices from Enve, 3T, Chris King and Cane Creek.

Sage Titanium to give the brand it’s full name is a American based bike brand with an online bike builder and, of course, shipping to the UK. Today, they release their latest Ti bike, a gravel bike that they call “a rock-gobbling animal”!

With titanium as the material of choice for the Storm King, as it is for all the bikes from this brand, Sage says they have shaped each tube specifically to compact certain forces that occur in those key areas. The down tube is bi-ovalized which presents a larger weld surface, which resists torsional forces in that area. The head tube is made with a vertical oval which combats twisting which results in precise steering and a horizontal oval BB shell reinforces lateral strength.

The frame features hardcore gravel based geometry, Sage has designed the frame with a curved seat tube (which can accommodate a dropper post) and there is enough room for 700 x 50c or room for a 650 x 2.4” tyre.

There are also plenty of mounting points for those huge multi day epics. You’ll find space for three bottle cages, front and rear rack mounts and bosses for bolt on frame bags too.

On the Storm King is a patented Cable-Clip System which combines a port under the down tube and a removable cable stop. The clip that allows the frame to be seamlessly converted from a mechanical shifting set up to an electric one. Removing the clip also removes the cable stops, allowing wiring to be run through the frame.

The frames finish is simply brushed titanium with a choice of coloured decals. This means that any blemishes can be fixed at home with a Scotch-Brite pad. Sage will also take the bike to be refinished and they’ll also slap on some new decals while they’re at it.

The Sage Storm King comes in seven sizes, from 50cm to 62cm and comes with a host of build choices from Chris King headsets to Enve wheelsets.

For the frame only, it’ll set you back $3,200 (around £2,500) up to $10,480 (£8,200).
