Giant opens brand store in Bristol

A third brand store in three months for Giant

The Giant Store Bristol unlocked its doors for business at the weekend – and it’s the largest Giant brand store to hit the UK to date. The store opened in Bradley Stoke and is run by an existing independent Giant dealer.

The store will offer customers a high street retail experience and a complete insight into Giant’s cycling world, and Managing Director of Giant UK Ian Beasant said: “We are delighted to be opening our third brand store in three months; this store is a real landmark and will take cycling retail to the next level.”

“Our early experiences in others stores shows that consumers are embracing the refreshing retail experience.”

Positioned minutes away from the M4/M5, the store is linked by major networks – this well connected member of the Giant family, is suitably positioned in the home town of Giant pro rider and Bristolian, Oli Beckingsale.

Paul Newman, Director of the Giant Store, Bristol said: “The store has surpassed my expectation - I believe we have the winning formula for the future of cycle retailing in the UK.”

The Bristol store is the third Giant brand store to hit the UK after others opened in Liverpool and Cambridge. Giant are hoping to roll the concept out in other key target locations and further potential stores are already being planned in discussions with other independent partners.

I may well do that, I do like Giant bikes (my first roadie was a giant ocr) and Itd be nice to go up and have a look round. I hope they do well.

I'd love to take you up on the offer ian off of giant but i'm off on me hols on saturday - anyone else from the bristol massive going to claim their free coffee? we'd love to hear about it. what's the best bike route to the store? presumably not the M4 1

Guys

Why don't you take a ride to the store this weekend, have a chat with the staff ( tell them Ian from Giant sent you) have a look round and a coffee and then tell us what you really think. You never know you might just like it

Agree with you G, the spesh concept store at fort dunlop is snazzy and all but its not really accessible by bike...seems a bit of a contradiction to sell bikes from a place you cant cycle to. The brizzle store is far better.

Giant listened when I asked for a store here but you would have thought they would capitalise on the cycling demonstration city status by nailing a city centre location such as Evans, Spesh concept or even Bike on the triangle.

Right by the motorway in one of the most inaccessible parts of Bristol, well done Giant muppets.
From visiting two very different Specialized concept stores - Birmingham (out in middle of nowhere) and Bristol (city centre) - I think it's safe to say that the location can make a big difference.

I agree, its way to far out of town to have any real impact. I mean its nice that its here in Bristol but its totally in the wrong part of the city.

I'm not impressed... But mostly cost they turned down (read: ignored) my job application.
