Arranging a courier fo EBay purchase

Sellers shouldn’t accept buyer arranged couriers - it’s a well known scam technique 

If you visit retrobike you’ll find a network of folk who help each other get bikes across the country one way or another. 

Never used it but I know the group is there.

Is the seller boxing the bike up or not? I've arranged a courier to collect when someone else has boxed up a bike, just do exactly the same as you would if collecting from you, but obviously arrange with seller as to convenient time/day to collect.

Another alternate if boxed up is to use parcelforce and the seller can drop off at a post office and in turn you can collect from a post office so it saves both of you having to wait in for the courier to turn up.

 ensuring that you have cover for the full purchase price is advisable, you'd be surprised how easy it is for couriers to 'lose' or crush things beyond recognition.

Paisley freight is another courier who will collect large/unboxed items I believe.

I've used shiply. Purchased a Danish mid century dining table and six chairs for about £40 and used shiply to pick it up and deliver it. It was delivered in good condition with no damages for £60. However, it is down to you to review the different couriers from the reviews they get and your initial quote will be high. Our shipping started at I think between £150 - 200, then got bidded down.

Obviously picking up a frame or bike from eBay you need to make sure the seller is going to package it well to make sure there are no damages.
