Three routes - 40km/80km/160km taking in South Derbyshire and Staffordshire countryside - with a new family ride of 19km on cycle paths around Derby. Riders on the 160km route will ride out towards Blithfield Reservoir, climbing over the famous Cannock Chase before turning back towards Derbyshire.
The 80km route takes riders out towards Tatenhill Airfield before turning back to join the 160km route at Stapenhill. Both rides then meander back to Markeaton Park through Repton and along Radbourne Lane.
The 40km route takes in undulating countryside towards Longford and Sutton on the Hill before returning back along Radbourne Lane.
All rides start on a closed road to allow cyclists to ride out of the park safely; the event is chip timed and riders get their results as soon as they ride back into the park and cross the finish line.
There are up to four feed stations, depending on what route you do, en route medical and mechnical support and when you finish, a hot meal, drink and a warm welcoming atmosphere when you ride back into the park.
NEW FAMILY RIDE for 2019! Our aim at Cycle Derby is get the whole family cycling so we are introducing a new family ride which is 19km (however there are three turnoff points along the way). The ride starts on a closed road to allow cyclists to leave the park safely, then the route is on cycle paths around Derby. When riders get back to the park they will receive a finishers medal, drink and snack.
