HUNT 36 CARBON WIDE AERO

Hallo,

I wondered if anyone can comment on these or the 45 tubular that own them?

i'm currently running a pair of 2016's Ksyrium Elite and wondered how much of an upgrade this would be.

Cheers

Ah yes, not under their name, Tri-Sport resort https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/tri-sport_resort/m.html?_trksid=p3692

I bought what I thought might have been a dodgy carbon seatpost as it was so cheap, didn't have any business details, turned out it was Canyon's ebay outlet (on the letter headed invoice). So bagged a spanking new Ritchey Superlogic for £80 incl postage from Germany, get in!

Keep an eye out on Wiggle's ebay outlet, they have had Mavic Haute Route tubs (£261 for a new rear ffs, utterly bonkers price!) Campagnolo Bora tubs and clinchers plus their Prime Carbon wheels for sale, you can get them for an absolute steal.

Unless you like the look of the carbon then the wheels you're after really aren't going to make any significant difference performance wise over your Elite's unless every second counts, say in racing conditions.

That said we rarely  buy based on 'performance', we like shiny things, we like bling, we like the fact that we think it'll make us go faster so as a plecebo effect we likely do ride faster.

If it was down to me and I was choosing between the two I'd say forget the 36 clinchers and get the 45 tubs, £130 cheaper and a bit lighter, better for braking on long fast descents, bit more of an aero benefit.

If you bought the Race Aero wide alu wheelset at £369 they'd do as good a job as you'd want, again depending if you race or not.

Hope it works out for you whatever you get.

I have their mason x 4 season on my commuter and was impressed.

The rim carbon wheels are only about 150g lighter than the mavics i have but can't make my mind up whether the stiffer wheel and marginal weight loss would be worth it. I do a few trips a year into the mountains as the Pyrenees are on my doorstep, so keen for any climbing benefit i can get 1

Dunno about those particular wheels but I've just fitted my new Hunt 30 Carbon Aero Disc and the quality appears to be absolutely superb. Ridiculously light, too.
