Wiggle Peak District Punisher
The Wiggle Peak District Punisher is a mid-season belter of a ride! Starting from the picturesque town of Bakewell, nestled on the edge of the Dark Peaks, it is ideally positioned for a special summer sportive ride. With 3 routes to choose from: Epic: 100 miles, Standard: 77 miles and Short: 40miles there is something for everyone. The 3 routes start out from the Agricultural Centre in the middle of town and climbs gradually up to the historic village of Eyam and over into the Hope valley. A quiet loop through Edale Village leads to the first main climb, the ascent of Mam Tor, a real leg burner but great views at the top! The Short riders leave the main route and climb up to Monsal Head, not to be taken lightly, before dropping back to Bakewell. Epic and Standard riders continue their adventure out to the west of the park with some tough climbs and blistering descents rewarded with stunning views, open countryside and quiet roads. An extra southern loop awaits the epic riders before the Alpine-like ascent at Crowdicote leads both groups of riders to the finishing stretch down into Bakewell, where a well-earned medal awaits all riders. Now’s the time to take advantage of a Massage or sample some well-earned cake from the Foodchain outlet. An excellent summer ride exploring some of the lesser known roads and climbs of the Peaks, don’t miss out, reserve your place now. - See more at: http://www.ukcyclingevents.co.uk/events/wiggle-peak-district-punisher-sp...
